Peels work by taking advantage of natural biological processes in our skin. We use ASAP peels that are gentle and effective, not aggressive.
All skin types will benefit from chemical peels regardless of skin condition, age, gender and skin colour.
Peel benefits include the exfoliation of the skin surface, improvement in pigmentation and skin tone, increased hydration, improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, and stimulation of collagen production. There is no downtime with ASAP peels.
Modified Jessner peel is also available for deeper peel penetration. This is used for acne scar treatment in combination with Dermapen or for treatment of deeper wrinkles and pigmentation. Skin redness, tingling and peeling is common after this peel.
Dermapen is an electric device with tiny needles that deliver controlled injury to the skin at adjustable speed and depth of penetration. This rejuvenation treatment triggers natural healing and regenerative responses, improving the appearance of aging, wrinkles, uneven skin tone/texture, stretch marks and scars.
This procedure is uncomfortable, could be slightly painful. When face is treated to a deeper level, numbing cream is used prior to the procedure. After the treatment, skin will feel warm and tingling for a short period of time. After the facial micro-needling, Hyla Active 3D Sculptured Mask is applied for 20 min to assist healing and recovery, followed by application of Vitamin Rich Repair healing cream.
For a week following the treatment, the skin should be regularly hydrated with gentle moisturizing creams.
For best results, treatments should be repeated at intervals of 4-8 weeks. Face (acne, fine wrinkles, pigmentation) 3-4 sessions 2-4 weeks apart; acne scars 4 - 6 sessions 4-6 weeks apart; stretch marks 4 - 6 sessions 6-8 weeks apart.
Dermapen treatments can be combined with Platelet Rich Plasma, which is being needled into the skin. This method is even more effective for stimulation of new collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
Wrinkle and lines reduction injections
During the initial consultation, we will discuss if reduction of lines and wrinkles is the best option for you. The doses and the price will be discussed at the consultation too.
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to treat and prevent wrinkles and expression lines, giving your face a smoother, younger appearance.
We work with using regulated, prescription-only products from Galderma company, and from Merz company, muscle relaxants which disable the nerve from signalling the muscle to contract. We target specific muscles in the face, following protocols for safe and effective results.
It takes 3 days for the treatment to start working and about 12 -14 days for full results. The duration of treatment varies from 2 to 4 months, depending on the strength of the muscle and how fast your body breaks down the product.
Possible side effects include a slight headache for 1-2 days following the treatment, swelling for 2-3 hours and rarely minimal bruising. Review 2 weeks after the treatment is advised when slight corrections could be made (no extra charge)
There are some risks associated with such procedures and the outcomes are not always as easy to achieve or as predictable as marketing would have people believe.

For the best results, 4-5 treatments 4 weeks apart are needed. Results are permanent, unless acne becomes active again.
Skinboosters could be used to improve skin defects further. Result from Skinboosters is temporary.
Cosmeceuticals/Skin Care
Dr Marina has a special interest in the skin treatments for anti-aging and acne.
Cosmeceutical products have both cosmetic and therapeutic effects, and are designed to improve skin health and beauty. Non prescription products are generally used as part of a regular skin care regime to help improve skin tone and texture, pigmentation and fine lines. We sell asap skin products that are very effective in skin care and are very reasonably priced.
Dr Marina can also prescribe very high potency topical preparations that are only available on prescription from compounding pharmacies.
Biostimulator injections
Biostimulator injections are a revolutionary new treatment for facial and neck skin rejuvenation, delivering profound hydration into the skin with prolonged stimulating activity to the dermal cells. Results are variable, but can last for up to two years.
PRP is one of the most natural rejuvenation treatments available.
It is well known that our blood plasma contains many factors essential for cell survival, such as nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and proteins. Platelets from our blood provide Growth Factors that are essential in injury repair and new collagen production.
This treatment involves collection of your blood (8-24 ml), which is placed in a centrifuge to separate plasma with platelets from red cells. The plasma portion is then injected into the skin using a syringe with a tiny needle, with face/neck rejuvenation requiring nearly a hundred injections. This treatment is very powerful for stimulation of new collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
Indications for PRP include: Fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, skin laxity, (in particular eyelids and neck); dark circles under the eyes, stretch marks and scars, hair loss (Alopecia).
This treatment is done with the aid of a very strong numbing cream to reduce discomfort. Minor bruising and skin swelling is common, justifying a Friday evening or Saturday morning appointment to allow the 48 hour recovery.
Results of PRP treatment are very subtle as skin rejuvenation happens slowly over a few weeks. For the best results, 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart a year are needed.
Facial Volume loss injections
During the initial consultation, we will do an assessment and discuss if you would benefit from volume correction treatments. Your tailored treatment plan is then decided upon to best suit your personal aims. The choice of the product and the price will be discussed as well.
Hyaluronic acid injections (Dermal Fillers) are used to achieve a more youthful, refreshed look. Dermal fillers are injected under the skin to replace areas of volume loss that occur with age and also to smooth out and plump superficial and deeper lines. Once Hyaluronic acid is injected in the skin, it works instantly and continues to work over time hydrating tissues which gives the skin a plumped up, youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers can be used to shape, re-volumise and enhance various areas of the face and lips. Most popular treatment areas are lips and cheeks.
Fillers last 6 to 18 months (12 months on average), depending on the treatment area and the type of filler.
We offer treatment to improve cheeks, lips, chin, nasolabial folds, Marionette lines, perioral lines, accordion lines, jaw line, hands and neck rejuvenation
Skinboosters
This is injectable hydration and rejuvenation treatments using light form of hyaluronic acid. Our skinbooster treatments can be administered to the face, neck and chest, and the backs of hands.
Skinboosters can also be used to treat acne scarring, with long-lasting results.
Skin Hyperpigmentation treatments
For many people over the age of 40, skin pigmentation can be a significant cosmetic problem in relation to freckles, age spots, and larger patches of discoloured skin from sun exposure.
Excess skin pigmentation is usually caused by over-production of Melanin. Reasons for hyperpigmentation are: 1.UV radiation, or excess sun exposure (most common); 2.Hormonal pigmentation on face caused by pregnancy or the pill (melasma); 3. Skin trauma – this can be a result of acne, scarring, deep chemical peels or laser treatments (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation); 4. Birth marks.
We can help with the treatment of superficial (epidermal) pigmentation which is the most common type of pigmentation induced by sun exposure. For best cosmetic results, pigmentation should be addressed on all parts of the face or body, including the neck, décolletage, and hands.
Treatment options include prescribed topical bleaching agents, Depmapen treatments, and chemical peels. Daily Factor 50 sun block is essential on a daily bases to maintain the results.
Treatment options include prescribed or specifically advised topical creams. Topical skin lightening agents help to reduce pigmentation by inhibiting enzymes that produce melanin and also by increasing the turnover of the skin. Common lightening agents include; hydroquinone, kojic acid, azelaic acid, retinoids, and glycolic acid. Topical lightening agents usually only fade pigmentation rather than remove it completely.
Dermapen micro-needling for hyperpigmentation is very safe for any skin types including dark skin. Skin lightening mesoglide is used during the procedure with a superficial needle depth. For best results, 4-6 treatments 2-4 weeks apart are needed.
Chemical peels are also highly recommended for reducing hyperpigmentation, with gentle peels removing any risk of significant peeling or inflammation. Several treatments are advised 2-4 weeks apart.
Laser treatments are very effective in removing pigmentation, especially for deeper dermal hyperpigmentation. There are however, more risks with the use of lasers as opposed to lightening agents/Dermapen/chemical peels, We do not offer laser treatments.
